After 2 very strong wins against last years premiers and top of the table. A grade looked to really drive their momentum into December with a win against a weakened Mundaring side. On a week of 38+ degree weather Saturday was no different with a 40 degree forecast for the day proving winning the toss to be a crucial moment of the match. Once again the coin falls the way of captain Ryan McCormack. To much delight from his teammates he chose to bat. However this decision started to look troubling as we slip to 4/16 after 7 overs. After a superb man of the match performance the week before, Paul Ridley decided he was having none of it so teamed up with Dilshan to put a rather fired up mundaring side to the sword. With Ridley getting his second 50 of the season before drinks he looked determined to push our score high. Dilshan while struggling with the heat and physically draining innings pushed through for one of the most deserving 50s finishing with 53 off 90 dragging us out of a tight spot. It was Ridley up to continue the fight pushing his way to 80 with 4 overs to go. It seemed like a century was on the horizon. However Ryan McCormack found some form with the bat and started to find the boundary. As Ridley kept bringing the milestone closer the energy on the balcony increased. Now in the 90s he didn’t want to leave it to chance and not have enough time. He smokes one to the boundary where an incredible diving effort with on the line juggling jumping in and out celebrations and ohhs rung out until ultimately the ball was parried over the line for 6. Needing 4 run with 12 balls remaining. Ridley decide enough was enough let’s give the crowd what they want and blasts a six over backward square for 6 up into the bushes. He’d done it he’d not only dragging the team total to a monster total he brought up the first A Grade century at Dianella for season 23/24! Finishing on 107* off 89 balls. Ryan McCormack 36 off 34. Dianella setting 221 for victory with a total of 221 to defend our tails were up and ready to go. A steady start from openers Tyler and Zac Hupping set the tone early with Zac claiming the big wicket of key batsmen Nimmo. Zac and Tyler finishing with 1/14 off 5 and 1/9 off 5 respectively. Dilshan after his batting masterclass on patience and grit provided the same thing with the ball collecting 3/37 off his 8 overs. Shane Beros and Bailey O’Keefe both collecting 1 wicket a piece off their respective overs. It was Toby Robertson to the Party cleaning up the tail and finishing off a job well done with 3/14 off 2 with a hat trick ball to come in his next spell. Up next a very big test for the group as we face off against Caversham this Saturday for the first time this season after a wet pitch forced an abandoned game. Then follow that with a game against ladder leaders Lesmurdie in Lesmurdie on Sunday. Any support at the game on Sunday is appreciated backing up two days in a row is always tough so any support is going to go a long way!

A second game in a row for the D Grade boys in the hills. We were without our illustrious captain Craig Niman for the second time this season but were on a winning streak and feeling confident. Stand in skipper Tom O’Reilly won a crucial toss with the dial pushing towards 40°C and sent the Dianella boys in to bat.
The batting innings was steady, with the top four of Preetham Gundoji, Ayesh Wijesiri, Joe Comande and Jeremy McGuire all getting into the 20s. The lack of wickets and stifling heat seemed to be getting to the Darlington boys and by the time J White came out to make his swashbuckling 18 off 20 the energy from the opposition was low. We set a target of 152, which we felt was defendable.
And so it turned out to be. Despite a small resistance put up from a Darlington opener, and a slightly frustrating last wicket partnership, the Dianella boys put on a clinic of taking advantage of the oppositions lethargy and showed the old saying “catches win matches” to be true. 9 of the 10 wickets to call were caught. Dianella debutant Liam Maher bowled well for his 3 wickets off 4 overs. Joe Comande bowled well as usual, and took 3 catches, 2 of which were absolute blinders including a caught and bowled. However, the man of the match performance with the ball (and bat) goes to Ayesh with 4 wickets in a suffocating spell of spin bowling that cemented the Dianella win.
Brodie Atkinson was an absolute beast in the field, taking 3 catches including a diving one hander, and saved many runs with his fielding. Ryan Atkinson on the other hand purposely rolled his own ankle in protest at being made to bowl seam up. For shame. In the end Dianella rolled Darlington for 79. The heat must have been getting to them because they forgot to come and shake hands.
Huge win for the D Grade lads and the streak continues. On to Ellenbrook at home this week.

Demons skipper won the toss and elected to bat. With only handful of players turning up on time Siraj had no choice but to open the batting with Raza. After a 30 run opening stand Raza got out. Shameel and skipper added another 30 runs before Siraj was caught behind. With the temperature soaring Nushkan and Shameel were scoring freely and 200 plus looked a possibility. But a flurry of wickets and Demons were in trouble at 7 for 140 . But Nuskhan made sure we got a decent score with a classy run a ball 63 with 9 boundaries and a six, well supported by Minjad and Fawzan.
Chasing 180 Mundaring were immediately on back foot left arm quick Shiraf sending the openers off stump cartwheeling, but Watters had other ideas, the big burly batsmen punishing the off spinner for 20 runs hitting 3 massive sixes. When the Mundaring batsmen looked threatening Siraj bought him self on and immediately struck sending the big hitter and the Mundaring skipper for not many finishing with 4 for 10 of 3.4 overs. Adnan did the damage from the other end claiming 2 wickets for 7 runs. Mundaring bowled out for 75 runs. Demons winning by 105 runs. Great wicket keeping by Fawzan claiming two catches and a stumping. Ikram accounting for two catches. Big thanks to Lefty who helped the team with laying down the cones before the match with an injured Leg. True Club Man.
