In an inspiring display of captaincy, indomitable leader, Craig, emerged as the responsible designated driver, by winning the toss on a sizzling day. This wasn't just any toss; it was a testament to Craig's unparalleled vision and his commitment to the team. After the past "adventures" under Tom's captaincy, Craig stepped in to ensure the crew was well taken care of, much to the relief of the team, who found that relief in the form of shaded trees. Srujan, once again impressed with a majestic 74 runs off 94 balls. Newcomer Ryan Marfurt, in his D grade debut, surprised everyone with an elegant 23 off 34, even managing a sly six that took everyone by surprise, especially Craig’s bat, who had her six virginity taken by another man. Hayden, returning to the club, contributed with a splendid 16 off 21 balls. Then Corey McGuire took the stage and turned it into his playground, pounding 65 off 39, featuring four towering sixes that may have registered with the radar operators at the nearby Perth Airport. Great effort from everyone involved to get us to a handy score of 240. It was then our turn to bowl, and Belmont came out swinging, getting off to a good start. Our bowlers, remained composed and a wicket was inevitable, with Hayden doing the job in his second over. Wickets then tumbled like dominoes, and by the 15th over, our opponents found themselves grasping at 60 for 7. The remaining batsmen, then proceeded to cling on stubbornly until the 33rd over, resolute in keeping us from our refreshing beverages back at the club. Big effort from Tom, with a 4-wicket haul, Kade, the epitome of discipline as he secured a pivotal wicket, and deserved more. The dynamic duo of Hayden and Corey, each claiming two wickets.

We won a very important toss and decided to bat first on an extremely hot day. We managed to get off to a pretty good start but some great fielding from Scarborough restricted our openers and one of the catches of the season was needed to remove the in-form S.Burress (36). After that we continued to push with C.Johnson (21) and then a 50 run partnership between R.Atkinson and C.Haagman put us in to a competitive position. With 145 on the board we thought if we bowled well we were in the game. Unfortunately for our bowlers even though they bowled fairly well we never managed to make a dent with wickets. Only getting 2 wickets for the day which made it hard to contain the top order of Scarborough. And unfortunately to add insult to injury we dropped too many chances and they passed our score in 30 overs. The pick of the bowlers were both of the Ediwireeras who both finished up with our wickets and made lots of chances. An honourable mention to S.Rutland who bowled really well without luck. Learning experience for the team. Catches win matches!!! Hopefully we learn from this game and continue to improve.
